Transit-Insight solution provides real-time visibility

West Rail Line (WRL ) in Hong Kong, HK, operates 26 sets of vehicles with 90seconds headway on 35.7 km of track with 12 stations. It’s is a driverless transit system operated using the SelTrac system from Thales. WRL is built and operated by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), then known as the KCR West Rail (九廣西鐵).
Thales Transportation awarded contract to Transit Insight Systems to supply a Real Time Signalling Status Monitoring System (RTS) for West Rail Line to support speedy fault tracing and service recovery through real time access and decoding of SelTrac telegrams.
RTS for WRL was implemented using Transit-Insight’s Analytic platform and has been operational since 2017. TI-Analytics provides the following real time signalling status and anomaly alerting for the following sub systems.
• Axle Counter Block
• Point Condition and Position
• Conflict Avoid Zones
• Health Status code of Station Controller Subsystem
• Health Status code of Platform Door Interface Unit
